In the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Robert Jones has filed a lawsuit against the State of Illinois, Illinois Department of Corrections, Robert Jeffreys in his official capacity as Acting Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections, Illinois Prisoner Review Board, James Montgomery in his official capacity as Chairman of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, and Anthony Willis in his official capacity as Warden of the Menard Correctional Center. The case is identified as 1:24-cv-03168 and was filed on April 23rd, 2024.

The plaintiff, Robert Jones, alleges that he has been deprived of his rights under the Fourth, Fifth, Eighth and Fourteenth amendments to the United States Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of 1971 (42 U.S.C. Section 1983). The lawsuit further states that Jones is currently on parole but involuntarily an inmate at Menard Correctional Center with assigned Inmate Number B73106.

Jones was sentenced on December 4th, 2009 in Cook County to a term of thirty years for each count to run concurrently plus three years of Mandatory Supervised Release. He was given credit for time served of 2,092 days and all other counts against him were dismissed.

The plaintiff seeks damages against defendants to redress these alleged deprivations under color of law.
