Eric Jones has filed a lawsuit against Amazon.com Services LLC in the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois. The case ID is 1:24-cv-03232 and it was filed on April 23, 2024. The lawsuit claims violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), alleging discrimination based on disability, failure to accommodate the plaintiff's disability, and retaliation for engaging in protected activity under the ADA.

Jones, represented by his counsel, alleges that he was hired by Amazon on December 16, 2023. He initially applied for a turret truck operator position but was placed in a role that required him to stand and lift packages which aggravated his disabilities. Despite this, Jones contends that he met all performance expectations.

The complaint further details that Jones requested time off to see his doctor about accommodations for his disability on January 8, 2024. However, he was terminated the following day before he could consult with his doctor. Jones asserts that his termination was due to his disability and in retaliation for requesting accommodations.

Jones is seeking redress for Amazon's alleged discriminatory practices and failure to accommodate his disability as well as retaliation against him for engaging in protected activity under the ADA. He is demanding a jury trial for this case.
